Account Deletion Policy

Effective Date: April 1, 2025Last Updated: March 2026Applicable to: Mobile App + brokerseva.com
Important: This page explains how you can delete your Broker Seva account and what happens to your personal data when you do. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Google Play account deletion requirements.

1. Your Right to Delete Your Account

You have the right to delete your Broker Seva account at any time. When you do, we will permanently erase your personal data from our active systems, subject to limited exceptions described in Section 5 below (legal, tax, accounting, audit, anti-fraud, and dispute-resolution obligations).

This right is in addition to the rights you have under our Privacy Policy, including the Right to Erasure under the DPDP Act.

2. How to Delete Your Account — In-App (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the Broker Seva mobile app:

  • Open the Broker Seva app and sign in.
  • Tap the Profile icon in the bottom navigation.
  • Go to SettingsAccount.
  • Tap Delete Account.
  • Read the on-screen consequences, enter the OTP we send to your registered mobile number, and confirm.

You will receive an in-app and SMS confirmation once the deletion request has been registered. The account is immediately deactivated and signed out from all devices.

3. How to Delete Your Account — Email

If you no longer have access to the app (uninstalled, lost device, locked out), you can request deletion by email:

  • Send an email to privacy@brokerseva.com from the registered email address on your account.
  • Subject line: "Account Deletion Request".
  • Include your registered mobile number and full name as on the account.

For verification, we may ask you to confirm a one-time code sent to your registered mobile number before processing the request. We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours.

4. What Gets Deleted

When your deletion request is processed, the following data is permanently removed from our active systems:

  • Your profile information — name, photo, designation, business details;
  • Your contact details — mobile number, email, address;
  • Your KYC and verification documents;
  • Your private property listings and inventory data;
  • Your buyer requirements and saved searches;
  • Your in-app messages and chat history;
  • Your wallet balance details (subject to payout of any outstanding balance — see Section 7);
  • Your syndicate memberships and shared inventory permissions;
  • Your device IDs, push notification tokens, and login sessions.

5. What We Are Required to Retain

Indian law requires us to retain certain records even after account deletion. These records are kept in restricted, access-controlled archives and used only for the specific legal purposes listed below:

  • Transaction & billing records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years under the Income Tax Act and GST regulations.
  • KYC records: Retained for the period required by applicable law and platform integrity rules, typically up to 5 years from the date of last activity.
  • Records under legal hold: If your account is the subject of an investigation, dispute, or legal proceeding, the relevant records will be retained until that matter is resolved.
  • Anonymised analytics: We may retain aggregated, de-identified usage data indefinitely; this data cannot be linked back to you.
Note: Retained data is not used to re-create your account or to contact you for marketing. It is held solely to comply with statutory obligations.

6. Timeline

  • Day 0: You submit a deletion request (in-app or by email).
  • Within 24 hours: Your account is deactivated. You can no longer log in. Your public profile and listings are removed from search and the public Land Bank.
  • 14-day grace period: If you change your mind, you can email privacy@brokerseva.com from your registered email within 14 days to cancel the deletion request.
  • Day 15 — Day 30: Personal data is permanently erased from our active production systems.
  • Day 30 — Day 90: Personal data is purged from system backups as those backups are rotated out.

You will receive a final email confirmation once deletion is complete.

7. Before You Delete — Important Things to Check

  • Withdraw your wallet balance. Any outstanding earnings in your wallet should be withdrawn to your bank account before deletion. Wallet balances cannot be released after deletion.
  • Settle pending commissions. If you have ongoing deals where commissions are pending, contact the counterparty broker to settle before deletion.
  • Cancel active subscriptions. If you are on a paid plan, cancel auto-renewal in Settings → Subscription to avoid further charges. Prepaid subscription fees are non-refundable.
  • Inform your syndicate. If you are part of a private syndicate, inform other members so shared inventory can be reassigned.
  • Export your data. You can download a copy of your listings and contacts via Settings → Privacy → Export My Data before initiating deletion.

8. What Happens to Your Listings and Shared Content

  • Private listings: Permanently deleted with your account.
  • Public Land Bank listings: Removed from public search; deleted from our systems within the deletion timeline above.
  • Messages you sent to other brokers: Your sent messages remain visible in the recipient's inbox (we cannot delete content from another user's device or account), but your name is replaced with "Deleted user".
  • Reviews, endorsements, referrals you gave: Anonymised — content is preserved with your name removed.
  • Co-broker deal records: Your role in completed joint deals is preserved in the counterparty's records, anonymised, for accounting and audit purposes.

9. Re-creating an Account After Deletion

You may register a new account using the same mobile number or email after your previous account has been deleted. However, your prior listings, network connections, syndicate memberships, wallet history, and reviews cannot be restored — they are permanently erased.

If you have an active legal hold or have been suspended for a violation of our Terms & Conditions, you may not be permitted to re-register.

10. Deleting Specific Data Without Closing Your Account

You don't have to delete your entire account to remove specific information. You can:

  • Delete individual property listings from Land Bank → My Listings;
  • Delete individual buyer requirements from Requirements → My Requirements;
  • Delete individual chat threads from Messages → long-press → Delete;
  • Edit or remove profile information from Profile → Edit Profile;
  • Disable specific data-processing activities from Settings → Privacy.
